Muse Release Music Video for Official Olympics 2012 Song 'Survival' - AceShowbiz Posted: 04 Jul 2012 08:28 PM PDT July 05, 2012 03:08:12 GMT The music video for the official song for this year's Olympic games has been released, featuring footage of athletes during past Olympic games. With the Olympics just around the corner, British band have released a video for their song "Survival" which has been chosen as the official anthem for the games which will be held in London. The video begins with clips from past Olympic events played in reverse with the years ticking backward. The selected clips show not only athletes who are celebrating but also those who are in moments of turmoil while competing. The clips are intertwined with a computer generated animation of a human figure running across a plain black background. During the animated cuts, the words, "faster," "higher," and "stronger" are flashed on screen. "Survival" will be played at the venues of the sporting events from July 27 until August 12 when the athletes enter and before the awarding ceremonies. Matthew Bellamy once said that the song which celebrates triumph and determination was written with the Olympics in mind and that it "expresses a sense of conviction and determination to win." Offered as the first taste off the band's new album, "", due later this year, the song itself is quite inspiring not just for athletes but for anyone who is the face of great challenges and obstacles. Bellamy sings, "And I light the fuse/ And I'll never lose/ And I choose to survive." The words, "I'm gonna win," are also repeated throughout the entire song. © AceShowbiz.com This entry passed through the Full-Text RSS service — if this is your content and you're reading it on someone else's site, please read the FAQ at fivefilters.org/content-only/faq.php#publishers.
